Why are you doing this now?
Most, if not all, of the old features have been added into V4, and V4 is receiving upgrades much more frequently now that it is our primary platform.
I want to stay on the old version.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end.
How long will V4 be around for?
Until V5 comes out, if it ever does, but most likely another 3 to 4 years.
Will my data be safe?
Absolutely. Both versions already use the same underlying data, so your information, statistics, applications, and account data will remain available in V4.
Why do this?
Maintaining two separate platforms indefinitely is not practical. Consolidating our efforts into V4 allows us to deliver improvements faster and provide a better experience for everyone.
Over the past two years, the old version has helped power hundreds of thousands of orders, supported countless staff members, and served as the foundation for the FoodExpress community we have today.
While it's time for us to move forward, we'll always be grateful for the role it played in our journey.
Of course, we had many versions before we acquired Virtual Diner's source code, but this was one of the most significant chapters in FoodExpress history.
As the old version reaches the end of its service, it also marks the final chapter of a platform lineage stretching back approximately 7.5 years.
